Kiss and make up

A WARM glow continues to come over the actor Rupert Penry-Jones when he recalls some of the more intimate moments he spent with his co-star Cate Blanchett in the film Charlotte Gray.

"She was certainly a great kisser," smirks Rupert, 31. "To ease the tension when we were doing the bedroom scene I had to make myself talk about my girlfriend and Cate would tell me about her husband. I feel sorry for that man - she's done so many love scenes in her films."
Rupert's previous romantic conquests include the energetic Kylie Minogue. But even so, he should not really be allowing his thoughts to wander, given that he is supposed to be entwined with Ballykissangel star Dervla Kirwan - the two fell for each other six months ago when they appeared in J B Priestley's Dangerous Corner.

Yet Rupert (whose mother is the To the Manor Born actress Angela Thorne) seems rather reticent when it comes to talking about Miss Kirwan. "Marriage is definitely not on the cards, yet," he tells me firmly. "Although my parents have met her and think she's great."
